I was trying some new film with my Rolleiflex camera at the Palisades Market in DC last Sunday & I loved the results...simple & pretty.
I LOVE this December brunch wedding I photographed at The Hay Adams
for a colleague of mine, Brittany and her new husband Jim. (...and on my birthday last year!) The wonderful team of Pineapple Productions
, Arney Walker
, Sidra Forman flowers
and Kendall's Cakes
made the day so very special. Read more on their feature on Martha Stewart Weddings

I loved hanging out with Danielle and Travis in the West Village of NYC! I can't wait for their Hampton's wedding next year.

Last November, Victoria Magazine
sent me to England to photograph a story for their 2013 British issue. After a stay at the welcoming and posh The Stafford London
, I was off to Devon, a two hour train ride west. If you've ever heard of the "moors" of England (and most likely stories of people getting lost on them), this is where they are. The famous Sherlock Holmes mystery The Hound of Baskervilles
was set here and recently the Steven Speilberg film War Horse
was filmed near Dartmoor National Park in Devon. My stay at The Arundell Arms Hotel
was fantastic and I loved the fly fishing trip we took from the inn. I have to say that I wasn't expecting any exciting meals after previous trips to England, but the restaurant at Arundell Arms was amazing. They served mostly locally gathered and grown ingredients in their dishes, including venison burger. My next stay was at Bovey Castle
, an unbelievable property that has been modernized underneath its charming, historic facade.
I enjoyed little day trips to local village markets and one of my favorite stops was a small hike to a tiny church in a cliff. The wind was blowing hard making the temperatures near freezing, but when I stepped inside it was quiet and quaint and enchanting. I love discovering hidden places like that when I travel! I bought some locally made yarn at the Tavistock Pannier Market and drank a few pints at a few local pubs. I highly recommend a trip to Devon...it was truly a unique experience with beautiful scenery, local legends, delicious meals and welcoming people. If you go in November, be sure to bring your wellies!
These are the moors...
At Bovey Castle, we learned how to make cider (pictured below) and sloe gin--a berry based gin that goes fantastic mixed with champagne.
Afternoon tea at the The Stafford London...it was perfect.
Have you ever been to the scarf room at Liberty of London? There are no words to the fabulousness of what is for sale there.
Be sure to check out Victoria Magazine's 2013 British Issue to see this stories and lots more!
I wanted to post a few photos to show the essence of this amazing after-party on western Nantucket at Millies
. The party was inspired by the surfing culture and the casual beach vibe of this part of the island and was a vibrant contrast to the soft palette from the Tricia and Brendan's
wedding the day before. Thanks to Pineapple Productions
for their amazing attention to detail...and to Millies on Nantucket
for hosting the party.
